Austin Chesmarians have adopted the Toys for Tots Campaign, delighting in bringing in toys and games for the annual distribution to needy children who would not normally have a Christmas gift.<\/p>\n
In 2007 the Houston Chesmar Team first participated in the GHBA\u2019s Adopt-A-Family campaign, which has now become tradition. The team selects at least one large family each Christmas and outfits them with necessities, toys, bikes, and clothing.<\/p>\n
When St. Peter-St. Joseph Children\u2019s Home called to ask if they could film at one of the Chesmar Homes models, of course the answer was \u201cyes!\u201d Visiting with the organization further provided an opportunity to help in other ways as well. Chesmar Homes partnered with San Antonio Christian Schools (SACS) to update the facility to create larger dorms for the children. Chesmar Homes took the lead in organizing and funding the project and SACS sophomore class took the lead in the execution.<\/p>\n
Chesmar is very invested in the schools and athletic teams of the communities in which they build, sponsoring, donating, and supporting many of the programs. Chesmarians donate classroom supplies to local teachers and participated in local school recycling drives donating thousands of pounds of paper to aid in their fundraising campaigns.<\/p>\n
The Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) group approached Chesmar looking for assistance with a service project to update the MCYS Bridgeway Homes. The home\u2019s bathroom facilities were in serious disrepair. Chesmar Homes stepped in to help. Construction manager David Smith took the helm, enlisting the aid of vendors to bring about great results to provide the young people with the necessary fully functional facilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
