Giving Back Through Building: Chesmar Homes and the HBA Benefit Home

At Chesmar Homes, building quality homes goes hand in hand with building stronger communities. That’s why we’re proud to support initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of Central Texans. One of the most impactful programs we’re honored to be part of is the Home Builders Association (HBA) Benefit Home—a meaningful way for builders, developers, and trade partners to give back through the very work we love.

What Is the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin?

The Home Builders Association of Greater Austin is a nonprofit organization made up of over 750 members representing all aspects of the home building industry. Its mission is to support sustainable growth, provide education and advocacy, and give back to the community. The HBA plays a key role in shaping the residential construction industry while also championing the importance of local impact and collaboration.

Understanding the HBA Benefit Home Initiative

Each year, the HBA organizes the Benefit Home program, where a new home is built using donated materials, labor, and services from HBA members. Once complete, the home is sold at market value, and the net proceeds are donated to local charities chosen by the HBA. This initiative demonstrates the power of collective effort and highlights the generosity of the building industry.

More than just a fundraising opportunity, the Benefit Home is a symbol of how builders can drive real, positive change within their communities. From trade partners to suppliers, everyone involved contributes to a project that supports families, services, and causes across Greater Austin.

Chesmar Homes’ Role in the Benefit Home

Chesmar Homes is honored to serve as the sponsor and builder for the 2025 HBA Benefit Homes. This year, we’re building in two beautiful Central Texas communities: 6 Creeks and Nolina.

As a leading new home builder, we take pride in creating homes that are not only well-crafted but also full of heart. Taking part in the Benefit Home aligns with our values—offering us the opportunity to build more than just homes, but also hope, opportunity, and connection.

Who Benefits?

The 2025 Benefit Homes will support a range of local organizations making a meaningful impact. Proceeds from the 6 Creeks Benefit Home will go toward:

  • The HBA’s workforce development initiatives, helping to grow and train the next generation of builders
  • HomeAid Austin, which provides housing and supportive services for individuals facing homelessness
  • The Austin Angels Foster Care Community Center in Hays County, which offers essential resources to foster families

Proceeds from the Nolina Benefit Home will support:

  • The HBA’s workforce development efforts
  • HomeAid Austin
  • The MD Anderson Cancer Center, a world-renowned institution advancing cancer research and patient care

Why It Matters

The Benefit Home represents what’s possible when an industry comes together with purpose. Through collaboration, planning, and shared passion, we’re able to create more than just square footage—we’re creating opportunities for healing, learning, and growth. At Chesmar Homes, we believe in making every home count, and the Benefit Home is a powerful extension of that belief.

It also reflects the values we instill in every new home construction project: integrity, service, and community-minded care. Whether it’s a first-time buyer or a nonprofit in need, we’re committed to making lives better, one home at a time.
